THE TIMES OF INDIA, MUMBAI
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Powai will confer alumnus
awards to distinguished scientists on its 37th Foundation Day to be celebrated on March 11.
The recipient include Kota Harinarayana for his work in the Light Combat
Aircraft programme, Arun N Netravali for computers and communication, optimisation, and
Suhas S. Kakde for precision design and manufacturing for the aerospace and
automotive industies.
The other awardees include Professor Sharad S. Sane for combina-Torics and
design theory, Romesh Wadhwani for robotics and the Electronic design for software industies,
S. Banerjee for metallurgical engineering, S. Rama Iyer for management in the chemicals, pet-
rochemicals and heavy industrial sectors and Narendra Kumar for condensed matter physics.
